​Chapter Highlights

​

​In February 2017, HQ began to share images and stories of how or Divisions and Chapters and giving back – and we’ve received an amazing response! People love reading about our special events, fundraisers, check presentations, coat drives, 5K’s, Veterans home visits, school back-pack drives, and more. We appreciate everyone who has sent in their submissions – and, we want more! Our goal is to continue to highlight an #AFSAGIVESBACK feature each week and share it within our overall recruiting, retention and overall marketing materials. Send your information now to [email protected]

Communications & Marketing Submissions Guidelines

We warmly welcome photos and stories from our Chapters and Members.  We love to highlight AFSA members on the go, leaders making a difference, members making a difference and so much more. Please submit your photos with captions, short stories, and examples of your AFSA Rock Stars to us any time!

To help us archive, please add your Division/Chapter number and title in the subject line of  your email or PM on Facebook.

• Provide an overview of the activity to include dates, general description and its overall success
• Photo submissions must be of good quality and HIGH RESOLUTION images!
• Photo captions must be provided with photos. Provide the names of individuals pictured the photo from left to right.
• Your submissions may be edited and shared through our social media outlets, eNewsletters, website and the AFSA magazine. 

Photos of AFSA Members in Uniform:  

• Division/Chapter leadership - if you are hosting an AFSA event, you must advise participants (in writing whenever possible) that their photos may be taken during the function, and they may be shared on social media, and Chapter/Division, Association marketing materials. A sign could be added to the registration or event table with the following disclaimer...

• Photography & Media Notice: By attending this event, you acknowledge that photographs and videos may be taken for promotional and marketing purposes. Your image may appear on social media, websites, and future marketing materials. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform event staff upon arrival.
• ​As a general rule, when you submit a photograph of a member in uniform to HQ, we will photoshop or blur their name and any specific insignia's, patches, etc. We advise you to do the same.
• If photos are specifically taken for marketing and promotional purposes, a PHOTO RELEASE FORM must be completed, and saved/archived for future purposes. (Please submit a completed form with any photo submissions).

AFSA Connection 

In a high-tech, sometimes impersonal and disconnected world, AFSA Chapters serve the important purpose of connecting its members around common values and causes.
