AFSA AIR FORCE JROTC and CAP
AFSA International is honored to have the opportunity to help recognize deserving cadets who demonstrate outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character and citizenship. The award consists of a Medal and Ribbon, a personalized Certificate and Awards Binder to recognize Cadets of the Air Force Junior ROTC and the Civil Air Patrol programs at high schools throughout the United States and overseas. There is no cost to the participant or school. AFSA JROTC Award: This award recognizes an outstanding second- or third-year cadet in a three-year program and/or third- or fourth-year cadet in a 4-year program who is in the top 10% of the AFJROTC class, and demonstrates outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship. AFSA CAP Award: In order to allow commanders the widest possible latitude in the selection of cadets, no specific criteria is established. The unit commander will forward their selection to us via CAP Form 120, Dec 08 that will list their name, grade, unit and justification which is usually a description of the act, achievement or service, or they can send a few lines explaining why they feel that cadet should be awarded. |
Air Force Junior ROTC AwardWith awards ceremonies approaching, we want to ensure that everyone has the current requirements and information needed to request a Junior ROTC (JROTC) Award.
The JROTC Award is an AFSA International Award for which there is no cost to the school. The award consists of a certificate with the cadet’s name inscribed and placed in an AFSA Presentation Folder along with a medal/ribbon. This is an annual award that recognizes cadets of the Air Force Junior ROTC program at high schools throughout the United States and overseas. To nominate a cadet, please send an email to [email protected] with the cadet's name, a few lines telling us why you feel this cadet should be awarded, along with the point of contact, date, time, location of the awards ceremony, the school's complete mailing address, and whether you would like someone to present the award. We recommend you send nominations to AFSA HQ 30 days prior to the ceremony date. AFSA HQ will contact the chapter closest to your school. If Chapter Leadership or a representative is available to present the award, someone will contact you directly. If no one is available or if you do not hear from the chapter in time for your ceremony, please present the award on AFSA’s behalf. The CAP Unit Award is an AFSA International Award for which there is no cost to the squadron. This is an annual award that consists of a certificate with the cadet’s name inscribed and placed in an AFSA Presentation Folder along with a medal/ribbon. This Award recognizes an enlisted cadet at the squadron level throughout the United States for an exceptionally meritorious service or exceptionally outstanding achievement. To nominate a cadet, please send CAP Form 120 or an email to AFSA HQ at [email protected] with the cadet's name, a few lines telling us why you feel this cadet should be awarded, along with the point of contact, date, time, location of the awards ceremony, the squadron’s complete mailing address, and whether you would like someone to present the award.
