Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright represents the highest enlisted level of leadership, and as such, provides direction for the enlisted force and represents their interests, as appropriate, to the American public and to those in all levels of government. He serves as the personal adviser to the Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Air Force on all issues regarding the welfare, readiness, morale, and proper utilization and progress of more than 410,000 enlisted members. Chief Wright is the 18th chief master sergeant appointed to the highest non-commissioned officer position. Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright talks about how the attitude of an organization is reflective of the leadership within that organization. The idea that as leader your organization will go as you go. In this funny, honest, human talk, he shares what he learned going from a disgruntled junior service member to the highest ranking enlisted member in the United States Air Force. The annual National Character and Leadership Symposium (NCLS) is the United States Air Force Academy’s flagship event on character and leadership. It brings together distinguished scholars, military leaders, corporate executives and world-class athletes to motivate and equip participants for honorable living and effective leadership. 2019 Theme: Leadership, Teamwork, and Organizational Management This year’s NCLS speakers’ stories will focus on the value, successes, and challenges of leadership at the personal (leading oneself), interpersonal (leading one or more people), team (leading a group towards a common goal), and/or organizational (leading an organization embedded within a larger institutional environment) levels. CMSAF#5 Robert Gaylor TEDTalk: Motto for Life
Former Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Robert D. Gaylor was adviser to Secretary of the Air Force John C. Stetson and Chiefs of Staff of the Air Force Gen. David C. Jones and Gen. Lew Allen Jr. on matters concerning welfare, effective utilization and progress of the enlisted members of the Air Force. He was the fifth chief master sergeant appointed to this ultimate non-commissioned officer position. In 2006, the NCO academy at Lackland AFB was named the Robert D. Gaylor NCO Academy in his honor. |
