AFSA's Key Legislative Issues: Military Healthcare
Currently serving more than 9.4 million active duty personnel, military retirees, and their families, the Military Healthcare System (MHS) is one of our nation's largest and most complex health care institutions. The importance that lies in the ability of the MHS to provide the highest quality of care with the greatest range of accessibility cannot be overstated.
At the heart of a lethal and ready military force lies a well-trained, fully capable cadre of medical professionals backed by an effective and efficient healthcare delivery framework. To ensure that our nation’s 1.4 million active-duty and 331,000 reserve-component personnel are healthy so they can complete their national security missions at home and abroad is a cornerstone of AFSA’s lobbying efforts. Contained in this edition of the AFSA's 117th Congressional "Legislative List" is a compilation of legislative items pertinent to our Legislative Platform’s “Military Healthcare” Focus Group. AFSA’s Legislative Lists serve as an effective key that will unlock the doors to a more receptive polity and well-informed populous. Support rendered to the legislative program by members of the AFSA is essential to the success in reaching our goals. On the national level, well-timed letters, emails, and phone calls in response to solicited requests and calls for action can make the difference between legislative failure and success. On the local and state level, such communication is no less important. If you have any additional questions about any of the pieces of legislation contained in this Legislative List, please feel free to reach out to our Military and Government Relations Team at [email protected]. |
