The Military Healthcare delivery system is one of our nation's largest and most complex health care institutions; currently serving more than 9.4 million active duty personnel, military retirees, and their families. The importance that lies in the ability of the Military Healthcare delivery system to provide the highest quality of care with the greatest range of accessibility cannot be overstated.
At the heart of a lethal and ready military force lies a well-trained, fully capable cadre of medical professionals backed by an effective and efficient healthcare delivery framework. To ensure that our nation’s 1.4 million active-duty and 331,000 reserve-component personnel are healthy so they can complete their national security missions at home and abroad is a cornerstone of AFSA’s lobbying efforts.
Enlisted in this edition of the 116th Congressional AFSA Legislative List is a compilation of legislative items pertinent to our Legislative Platform’s “Military Healthcare” Focus Group. The political arena at-large is an ever-changing ecosystem whose oversight and accountability requires a watchful eye and a professional, honest, and unified grassroots advocacy movement. AFSA’s Legislative Lists serve as an effective key that will unlock the doors to a more receptive polity and well-informed populous.
Support rendered to the legislative program by members of AFSA is essential to the success in reaching our goals. On the national level, well-timed letters, emails, and phone calls in response to solicited requests and calls for action can make the difference between legislative failure and success. On the local and state level, such communication is no less important.
