Uniformed Services Foundation

Picture
The Uniformed Services Foundation (USF) was established in 2021 to raise charitable funds for the purpose of educating, promoting, highlighting and strengthening community and national support for veterans’ issues in the areas of health, education, economic wellness, quality of life, and any other related areas where needed.

Through our mission partners and personal contributions, from members like you, the organization provides funds for worthy causes such as scholarships for enlisted Airmen’s children aged 23 and younger.

The Foundation is organized for charitable purposes, including the making of distributions that qualify under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Law (hereinafter “501(c)3”) and to receive and administer funds for charitable purposes, public welfare and education.  In furtherance of such purposes, the Foundation shall be empowered:
  • To promote recognition of the contributions to society made by members of the United States Uniformed Services; to own and operate a museum to memorialize personnel who have made significant contributions made to the United States Armed Forces; and to otherwise ensure that there is a permanent memorial dedicated to the history of contributions made by such persons.
  • To develop a Research and Reference Center for Uniformed Services  Heritage which indexes available educational historical resource materials, collects unique or rare archival materials relevant to the history of personnel since the inception of the United States Armed Forces, and makes the materials available for study by the general public.
  • To offer college; trade school/vocational scholarships to Uniformed Services members and their college-age dependents.
  • To take and hold, by bequest, devise, gift, purchase or lease, either absolutely or in trust, for any of the foregoing purposes, any property, real, personal or mixed, without limitation as to the amount of value, except as limited by law.
  • To sell, convey and dispose of any such property and to invest and reinvest the principal thereof and to deal with and expand the income for any of the before mentioned purposes, except as may be limited by any limitations contained in the instrument under which such property is received.
  • To receive any property, real personal or mixed, in trust, under the terms of any will, deed, trust or other trust instrument for any of the foregoing purposes, and in administering the same to carry out the direction and exercise the powers contained in the trust instrument under which the property is received, including the expenditures of the principal as well as the income for one or more of such purposes, if authorized and directed in the trust instrument under which it is received.  No gift, bequest or devise of any such property shall be received and accepted if it is conditioned or limited in such manner as shall require the disposition of the income of its principal to any person or organization other than a “Charitable Organization” or for other that “charitable purposes”, or as determine by the Board or its Agent to jeopardize the federal income tax exemption pursuant to Section 501(c)3.
  • To receive, take title to, hold and use the proceeds and income of stocks, bonds, obligations or other securities of any corporation or corporations, domestic or foreign.
  • No part of the net earnings of the Foundation shall inure to the benefit of or distribution to its members, directors, officers or other private persons, except that the Foundation or its Agent shall be authorized and empowered to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered and to make payments and distribution in furtherance of the purposes set forth in these Bylaws.
